Who We Are?

VAP is a daycare center that welcomes elderly people.

It is a non – profit and non – political organization that was established in 2017 and is one of its kind in the Middle East.

It is located in Saint Paisios Center and part of Saint Dimitrios church in the Archdiocese of Beirut, Achrafieh. Intellectually, mentally and physically independent elders, aged 64 and above, are admitted regardless of religion, nationality, social or familial status, etc.

The administration fills out a form with information on the mental and physical health of each applicant.

Message from our Pater Dimitri Khoury

“تذكّروا أيامكم الأولى، وتأمّلوا في طريق من سبقوكم، ففي شيبتهم حكمة، وفي تجاربهم عبرة، وفي رعايتهم بركة”

فهم ليسوا ذكرى من الماضي، بل هبة للحاضر.

يرى التقليد المسيحي في كبار السنّ كنزاً من الحكمة والخبرة. فأيّامهم الطويلة تجعلهم مؤهّلين لتقديم المشورة والإرشاد للصغار . كما في سفر أيوب: “عِنْدَ ٱلشُّيُوخِ حِكْمَةٌ، وَفِي طُولِ ٱلْأَيَّامِ فَهْمٌ” (أيوب 12:12) .

ويدعو الرسول بولس تلميذه تيموثاوس إلى معاملة كبار السن ّ كآباء، معاملةً قائمة على الاحترام والمودّة العائلية . ويؤكّد القدّيس باسيليوس الكبير هذه النظرة، قائلاً إن ناموس البشرية يجعل الشيوخ آباءً للصغار، وناموسنا المسيحي يضعنا في موقع الأبوة الروحيّة لهم .

لذلك العناية بهم واجب أسري وروحي .

Seniors are the roots of our society, carrying wisdom, strength, and values that shaped generations.

At VAP – Vieillir Avec Plaisir, we believe aging should never mean isolation or losing purpose.

That’s why daycare centers for seniors are essential: they offer a safe, welcoming environment where seniors stay active, socially connected, and mentally stimulated, surrounded by qualified professionals, therapists, and
meaningful activities.

Our mission is to help them, preserve their independence, abilities, memory, and well-being while returning home to their families every day.

VAP is proud to be the first daycare center for senior adults in the Middle East. Because every senior deserves dignity, care, and joy.
